47. Myoxanthus simplicicaulis (C.Schweinf.) Luer (1982: 51). (Fig. 18F) Basionym: Pleurothallis scandens var. simplicicaulis Schweinfurth (1962: 16). Homotypic synonym: Pleurothallis simplicicaulis (C.Schweinf.) Luer (1977: 388). TYPE:— VENEZUELA. Bolívar: Apácara-tepui, Río Tirica, 1700–1850 m, 23 Jun 1953, Steyermark 75957 (holotype: AMES; isotype: NY!). Distribution: — Guyana and Venezuela. Notes:— This species has been reported from only Guyana and Venezuela. It is caespitose with slender ramicauls and narrow leaves producing successive single flowers. The habit is similar to M. hirsuticaulis and M. merae, but the yellowish to brownish flowers with abaxially shortly pubescent sepals are most similar to M. merae, which is only found in Ecuador and Peru.
