The article provides a critical analysis of the notion of lived body (Leib) in M. Merleau-Ponty, as the overcoming of the body-mind dualism. It expands that notion in order to integrate the experiences of the physical body (Körper) and make possible the dialogue between phenomenology and medicine by proposing a phenomenology of the ailing body.En este trabajo analizaré críticamente la noción de cuerpo propio (Leib) que la fenomenología de Merleau-Ponty propone como concepto que supera el dualismo cuerpo/mente.
