New territories for agriculturists in Southwestern France : investigations in some districts of the Landes and Gers. Considering some investigations' results, the author examines what were the conditions of the settlement in Southwestern France of immigrant agriculturists and she observes that their arrival had few influence if any on the regional development trends. The second batch of newcomers consisted of former North Africa colonists : they came in during the sixties when rural population was decreasing in the Gers and the local low intensity agricultural multiproduction was experimenting the early stages of its motorisation ; they met various difficulties, they had not enough capital to invest, they suffered heavy endebtment and conse...
