During the summer of 2009, an important archaeological campaign was carried out in the heart of the downstream Seine region. It allowed us to locate a well-preserved occupation site attributed to the Upper Magdalenian. The operation concerns a surface area of 103 hectares located from the left bank of the Seine along the edge of the river and slightly downstream, to the most concave part of a meander which gives a strongly asymmetrical aspect to the bottom of the valley. The Magdalenian occupation was discovered in an alluvial sandy silt layer which provides a favourable context for the preservation of archaeological remains.
