Within Ontario's French-speaking minority, there are sizable interindividual differences in the level of contact with English, the frequency of use of French, the domains in which French is used and in the modes of French-language learning. This study examines sociological and demographic data pertaining to theses differences. Then, it provides a survey of the main results of research on variation in Ontarian French.
