At 1883 the Claretian Congregation, that has been founded in Catalonia by Saint Antoni M Claret, iniciated its missionary adventure in Equatorial Guinea. The Claretians imposed in those territories, where also wielded a civil authority, a patronizing conduct towards to the « indigenous », as all the missionary institutions at that time. But, unlike the Jesuits, that have been there before and failed, they concentrated its evangelizer task on the education of young girls and boys, in boarding schools ; with the aim of creating, further, families and Christian towns under the Mission authority.
