La barrera artillera del castillo de aguilar. Un ejemplo de adaptación de la arquitectura militar a la pirobalística

The castle of Aguilar, built in the early Middle Ages, is one of the fortresses with most architectonical interest in the province of Córdoba, due to its historical evolution and, specially, to the different reforms that it has undergone throughout seven centuries of useful life. The last great reform is attributed to Alfonso de Aguilar, landlord of Aguilar seigneurie during the last years of fifteenth century, and it incorporates, among other elements, a defensive barrier (falsabraga) of great interest for the study of military architecture, being an example of transition between the eminently medieval military buildings and the new modern castles. This article is dedicated to the analysis of this singular element based on the results obtained in the archaeological diggings carried out between 2009 and 2012, with the main objective relating it to the historical context in which it was built and comparing it with similar defensive barriers of coetaneous fortresses.El castillo de Aguilar, de origen altomedieval, es una de las fortalezas de mayor interés arquitectónico de la provincia de Córdoba, debido tanto a su evolución histórica como, en especial, a las diferentes reformas experimentadas durante sus siete siglos de vida útil. La última gran reforma realizada es atribuida a Alfonso de Aguilar, titular del señorío durante los últimos años del siglo XV, e incorpora entre otros elementos una barrera defensiva o falsabraga de elevado interés para el estudio de la arquitectura defensiva, por constituir un ejemplo de transición entre los edificios castrenses eminentemente medievales y los nuevos castillos de época moderna. El artículo está dedicado al análisis de este singular elemento a partir de los resultados obtenidos en las campañas de excavación arqueológica realizadas entre 2009 y 2012, con el objetivo de enmarcarlo en el contexto histórico en que se construye y ponerlo en relación con barreras defensivas similares de fortalezas coevas
