The Latest News Notre Dame Religious Liberty Summit Notre Dame Law School grants tenure to four professors ND Law Professors Samuel Bray and Paul Miller cited in U.S. Supreme Court opinion Cohen\u27s Handbook of Federal Indian Law, a treatise edited by Nell Newton, was cited several times in opinions issued on June 22 in Arizona v. Navajo Nation, a case in which the Supreme Court determined that the 1868 Treaty of Bosque Redondo did not require the federal government to take affirmative steps to secure water for the Navajo Nation. Professor Paolo Carozza delivers keynote lecture at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile ND Law and Nanovic Institute host inaugural conference for Consortium of Catholic Law Schools in Poland Jennifer Mason McAward, spoke with the Christian Science Monitor about the Supreme Court decision on affirmative action in college admissions. John Meiser was quoted in the Time Magazine article, Supreme Court Strengthens Religious Freedom Protections for Workers about the ruling in the Groff v. Dejoy case. Diane Desierto wrote a post for EJIL Talk contrasting the main points of the SCOTUS decision in SFFA v Harvard, with the United States\u27 international human rights law obligations under the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Nicole Garnett co-authored a new report for the Manhattan Institute that examines the challenges of implementing education savings accounts and makes suggestions about how to overcome pitfalls. Carter Snead wrote, Reflections on Dobbs, one year later for The Hill. Rick Garnett wrote for Law and Liberty on the Supreme Court’s 9-0 decision in Groff v. DeJoy, which clarified that employers should accommodate religious requests unless doing so would result in “substantial increased costs.” Stephanie Barclay authored an op-ed in Deseret Magazine about the ongoing fight to protect Oak Flat. Sherif Girgis was quoted in the Tablet article, High Court Sides with Graphic Artist Opposed to Making Wedding Websites for Same-Sex Couples. Jim Farrington was quoted in the article, Spellbook Paves the Way for Responsible AI Integration in Legal Education. Susan Azyndar has joined the editorial board of Law Library Journal, the official journal of the American Association of Law Libraries. Bobby Reddy, who teaches in our London Law Programme, has been promoted by the University of Cambridge to Professor (Professor of Corporate Law and Governance), effective in October. Student News Barrett Cole receives Lardy Scholarship Award for 2023-24 Alumni News Alumni and students in the Los Angeles area gathered in June for a Notre Dame Lawyers social and networking event.
