The areas of the Greek diaspora and the Greek State's territory. — During the 19th and 20th centuries, the centre of gravity of Hellenism has oscillated between nation-State and diaspora. Until today, ideologies and the political and economic evolution of the world have favoured State construction; globalisation and the crisis of modernity, on the other hand, lead to the resurgence of diaspora. Although the Greek diaspora tradition is a definite advantage, the projection of State models of organisation onto the diaspora certainly hinders the flourishing of Hellenism within it.Pendant le XIXe et le XXe siècles, le centre de gravité de l'hellénisme a oscillé entre l'État-nation et la diaspora. Jusqu'à maintenant, les idéologies et l'évolution politique et économique de notre monde ont favorisé la construction étatique ; la globalisation et la crise de la modernité conduisent par contre au renouveau de la diaspora.
