Dalle Gallie a Roma. Testimonianze epigrafiche d'età impériale di personaggi provenienti dalla Narbonese e dalle tres galliae

C. Ricci. — The Gallic people in Nimes. Epigraphic testimonies from the imperial time on people originating from the Narbonnaise and the three Gauls, Revue Archéologique de Narbonnaise, t. 25, 1992, p. 301-323. After an exposé of this methods and his aims (synthethis and sources attesting that Gallic people lived in Rome) the author sums up the evolution of this phenomenon ever since the invasions of the beginning of the 4th century B.C. and sets up a chart of the activities of the people, without forgetting to note where they were originating from : rhetors, writers, physicians, generals, senators and knights ; 75 prosopographic notes with testimonia are grouped in two categories : civilians and service men. Then follows an analysis of all these testimonia with a study of the details of all the information given in the chapters quoted (origin, profession) finishing with information concerning Christians from the 3rd to the 5th century A.D.Après un exposé de sa méthode et de son but (synthèse des sources attestant la présence de Gaulois à Rome), l'auteur résume l'évolution du phénomène depuis l'invasion du début du IVe s. av. J.-C. et dresse le tableau des activités exercées en mentionnant l'origine géographique des personnages : rhéteurs, écrivains, médecins, généraux, sénateurs, chevaliers ; 75 notices prosopographiques avec testimonia sont regroupées en deux classes (civils et militaires) ; suit une analyse de ces testimonia reprenant en détail tous les renseignements fournis sur les rubriques citées (origine, profession...) et s' achevant sur les indications relatives aux chrétiens, du IIIe au Ve siècles de notre ère.Ricci Cecilia.
