Old and Homeless in Munich. A Study about the Situation of Life of Elderly Homeless Men in a Munich Emergency ShelterThis article focuses on the conditions of a fringe group that have been overlooked in many previous studies. It analyses the adverse living conditions of elderly homeless men in a Munich emergency shelter. A retrospective point of view illustrates the lifelong influence of the levels of vocational training and main activity on the development of the adverse conditions. A comparison with previously collected data of the situation of elderly homeless men in out-patient and in-patient care forms of housing shows that apparently elderly homeless men in an emergency shelter suffer from lower adverse living conditions; however, they still require comprehensive services, in order to alleviate to any real extent on their conditions of homelessness
