Reducing the cost of redox flow batteries (RFBs) is critical to achieving broad commercial deployment of large-scale energy storage systems. This can be addressed in a variety of ways, such as reducing component costs or improving electrode design. The aim of this work is to better understand the relationship between electrode microstructure and performance.
