The propagation rate coeff. (kp) of Me methacrylate photochem. polymn. has been measured in miniemulsions. The PMMA mol. wt. distributions show many higher order peaks, which seems to be specific for pulsed initiation polymn. in compartmentalized liqs. The kp values are very similar to bulk values although a frequency dependence is obsd. This frequency dependence, which was overlooked in earlier research, is also present in pulsed laser expts. in bulk. [on SciFinder (R)
