ABSTRACT : Interjections are the source of surprising debates among the grammarians of the middle of the 13th century. At the semiotic level, they stand between conceptual signs and natural signs. The place they are assigned depends on an analysis of affects borrowed from theological and philosophical sources : it involves a philosophy of action, stemming from a dialectic between passions on the one hand and reason and will on the other hand.
