Fluctuations lacustres et paléoclimatologie postglaciaire

So far subalpine lakes have seldom and only very partially been taken into account in the paleoclimatological study of the Postglacial period. Research in that field was until now essentially limited to palynological soundings or, more recently, to analyses of paleotemperatures (O¹⁸ ..). A paradoxical situation considering that, since the early years of the 20th century, the study of lake-dwelling (settlements on firm ground or on piles) has been closely connected with climatic evolution during the Neolithic period and Protohistory. A more thorough approach is therefore urgently needed , it would show how valuable a study of subalpine lakes can be for paleoclimatic research.L'étude des lacs subalpins a été peu utilisée jusqu'ici en Paléoclimatologie du Postglaciaire. Seules ont été effectuées des analyses palynologiques et de paléotempératures (O¹⁸). Ceci est surprenant, car le problème des palaffites (habitat sur pilotis ou sur terre ferme ?) depend de l'évolution climatique durant le Néolithique et la Protohistoire.
