Skills and Salary in the Garment Industry : a Monographie Approach - After summarizing the information provided by statistical sources, the article examines the relationship between skills and salaries in the collective bargaining agreements in the garment sector, and then in the actual practices of four firms. The collective agreements do not allow for the taking into account of individuals. It is the position itself which is defined as being skilled or not, on the basis of relatively obvious criteria. The system of classification practiced by firms is a mixture of criteria linked to both the position and to the individual.
