Kédougou : aspects de l'histoire et de la situation socio-économique actuelle.

Summary In the first part, the author describes the history of the Kédougou settlement : foundation around 1825 by Saliem Ba, a Sarakole ; struggle for influence between the Tenda, Peul and Malinké ; colonial period (1904-1960) : setting up of the various political, social and economical institutions ; indépendance together with an accelerated development : in ten years, the population has tripled. Then, an analysis of some present statuses and roles, some are traditional, acquired through inheritance, such as the function of compound's headman ; others have been created recently (administrators, traders, salaried people). Between these two categories, one finds a whole range of statuses and roles which barrow their features both from the traditional organization of the village and the present organization of the commune.Dans une première partie l'auteur retrace l'histoire de l'agglomération de Kédougou : fondation vers 1825 par un Sarakolé, Saliem Ba ; luttes d'influence entre Tenda, Peul et Malinké ; période coloniale (1904-1960) : mise en place des différentes institutions politiques et socio-économiques ; Indépendance qui va de pair avec un développement accéléré : la population a triplé en 10 ans. Ensuite sont analysés quelques statuts et rôles actuels, les uns traditionnels, acquis par héritage, comme la fonction de chef de carré ; d'autres récemment créés (cadres administratifs, commerçants, salariés...). Entre ces deux groupes, se situe toute une série de statuts et de rôles qui empruntent leur caractère à la fois à l'organisation traditionnelle du village et à l'organisation actuelle de la commune.Le Bon G.
