A five-terminal teleconferencing system has been developed and installed in the Heinrich Hertz Institute. Experimental conferences were organized for business, educational and purely private purposes to test the reactions of potential users. In most cases, both participants and observers were satisfied, especially with the possibility of showing documents and pictures. The course of teleconferences was not much different from real-to-face meetings, although there was a feeling that personal contact was missing
