New UV-curing wood coatings for exterior applications

Timber surfacing systems for outside use have a relatively limited life, which seldom exceeds five years before requiring renovation. This is probably the most important reason for stagnation of the wooden-framed window market over the last 10 years or so, while the less-demanding plastics-framed windows have seen an increase in demand. New UV-curing coating systems are presented here, which demonstrate much-improved weathering properties, as compared with existing systems.
