An analysis of the way the French economy has evolved since 1986 is presented in this article. The recovery of economic growth is due mainly to a more favourable international environment, resulting both in the fall of the dollar and in the decrease in oil prices, which has allowed economic policies to be less restrictive, thereby supporting the recovery. As a consequence, good performances have been recorded in 1988 : strong economic growth leading to significant job creation, a rapid growth of investments, an increase in households' purchasing power and a reduction in budget deficits, without involving a rise in the moderate inflation rate.Cet article analyse l'évolution de l'économie française depuis le contre-choc pétrolier.
