Importancia del idioma inglés como objeto de enseñanza y aprendizaje en el nivel de secundaria

This article is presented from the Importance of English as an object of teaching and learning. It is built as a staging from the high school level in Colombia, providing, on the one hand, general background of this foreign language worldwide, Latin American and in the Colombian context; In addition, analysis of the problems in the development of teaching and learning, indicating the achievement indicators and the importance of the education of a foreign language such as English for the processes and education of the 21st century. It also addresses how this language has historically been introduced to the different countries of the world, and as a complement to this information, it works with the analysis of some investigations that address the teaching-learning of English within its problems. Finally, it concludes by pointing out the importance of developing this second language, at the Latin American and Colombian level, in secondary education, as well as at other levels. Better organization is required in the English teaching-learning process, from policies, curricula and educational institutions; On the other hand, it represents a challenge for English teachers and requires more and better preparation in teaching in terms of methods, strategies and tools and, finally, valuing the language as a second language in formal education from the very beginning. years of the formation of boys and girls.Este artículo se presenta desde la Importancia del Inglés como objeto de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Se construye como una puesta en escena desde el nivel de secundaria en Colombia, entregando, por una parte, antecedentes generales de esta lengua extranjera a nivel Mundial, Latinoamericano y en el contexto colombiano; además análisis de los problemas en el desarrollo de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje, indicando los indicadores de logro y la importancia de la educación de una lengua extranjera como el inglés para los procesos y la educación del siglo XXI. Se aborda, además, cómo históricamente se ha introducido esta lengua a los diferentes países del mundo, y como complemento a esta información, se trabaja con el análisis de algunas investigaciones que abordan dentro de su problemática la enseñanza-aprendizaje del inglés. Finalmente, se concluye señalando la importancia de desarrollar esta segunda lengua, a nivel Latinoamericano y colombiano, en la educación secundaria, así como en otros niveles. Se requiere de mejor organización en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje del inglés, desde las políticas, los currículums y las instituciones educativas; por otro lado, supone un reto a los docentes de inglés y les pide mayor y mejor preparación en la enseñanza en lo que refiere a métodos, estrategias y herramientas y, por último, valorar el idioma como segunda lengua en la educación formal desde los primeros años de la formación de niños y niñas
