Das iliotibiale Bandsyndrom (ITBS) ist eine Überlastungsbeschwerde, die vorwiegend Ausdauerläufer betrifft. Die Ätiologie des ITBS ist multifaktoriell. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden isometrische und isokinetische Messungen an Probanden mit ITBS und an einer gesunden Kontrollgruppe durchgeführt. Ziel der Arbeit war, die Funktion der Hüftabduktoren und -adduktoren von Ausdauerläufern mit und ohne ITBS mit Hilfe dieser Messungen zu erfassen. Aus 20 Probanden, 10 mit der Diagnose ITBS und 10 gesunde Probanden, wurden drei Kollektive gebildet: das ITBS-Kollektiv, das Kontrollkollektiv und eine weitere Kontrollgruppe, die aus der „gesunden Beinseite“ der ITBS-Probanden bestand.
