Letter Written by Alfred W. Cole to the Bryant College Service Club Dated July 14, 1943

[Transcription begins] THREE NINETY-FIRST INFANTRY CAMP BRECKINRIDGE, KENTUCKY July 14, 1943 Dear Bryant Service Club Thanks loads for the swell newsy letter. It sure was a complete coverage of the latest of the “gang”. The address idea is wonderful – been wondering where some of the fellows were for a long time. Also, many belated thanks for the last package. They are always welcome. It was with deep sorrow that I read of Johnny Hull’s death. One of the best of the class of ’41 will not be forgotten soon. Seems there is a silver lining to every cloud thought and Ben Scuda’s rescue provides it this time. Leave it to Ben to get out of any scrap on top. Here’s to Ben and his safe return. For awhile I was in hopes of dropping in on you folks by way of a furlough but a sudden change in plans has made that impossible at present. In fact from the outlook it may be a long time before we see Providence again. There is not much in the way of news that I can write this time as we are in a sort of in-between period now. Thanks for remembering the Class of ’41 and looking forward to the Bryant Re-Union. As ever, Alfred Cole [Transcription ends
