Finding totems in the world of nature that had special meaning and could be depicted in both images and feeling inspired a group of quilts. Spider, the weaver, is a reflection in many cultures of the creation story. Thus the fabric of apparent galaxies quilted together creates a web uniting creation and the idea of the spider. For Patricia, this mated with the Turtle, the mother, in ways recognized by the small image embedded in the quilt.
