This paper investigates the notions of cultural transfer, cultural transmission and cultural interaction in four literary events, Het Grote Gebeuren, Boek & Film, Naked Lunch and Zondagschrijvers, organised by Groninger Forum Bibliotheek. A combination of qualitative and quantitative research shows different results for the four events. The role of the audience is limited in three out of four events, whereas one of the events counts on input of the audience.
