The yellow diamond represents our mountains and the blue background is the sky. In the middle of the flag is a seagull, our state bird, with a sego lily, our state flower, in its beak. The seagull represents Utah's ability to soar to new heights and all of the great things we can accomplish together and the lily represents our "roots" or our heritage keeping us grounded
