Determining the presence of anti-HLA antibodies before transplantation is an important factor to prevent loss of function among renal transplantations. In addition, recent studies have shown that not only the pretransplantation existence of anti-HLA antibody but also posttransplantation donor-specific antibodies (DSA) and non-donor-specific antibodies are significantly associated with allograft rejection or loss of graft function.
