Fertility rates in sub Saharan Africa (SSA) have been identified to be depicted by a unique demographic scenario, that sets the region apart from other regions in the world. Demographers are particularly keen on comprehending the dynamics surrounding the demographic transition of the sub continent especially with respect to its shift from high fertility rates to low fertility rates.
