Response of robust coffee (Coffea canephora) Pierre ex A. Froehner to different management of shade and fertilization, in the south of Chiapas, Mexico

Con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto del manejo de sombra en la producción de café Robusta (Coffea canephora), estimar la respuesta comparativa de la fertilización y evaluar el efecto de la interacción entre el manejo de sombra (PG) y la fertilización (PCH). El estudio se realizó en el ejido Unión Roja, municipio de Cacahoatan, Chiapas, localizado a una altitud de 730 msnm. Se utilizó un diseño experimental completamente al azar con arreglo en parcelas divididas con 6 tratamientos y 10 repeticiones con lo que se obtuvo 60 unidades experimentales. Los tratamientos fueron tres manejos de sombra (PG), (2 desombres, 1 desombre y 0 desombre); y fertilización (PCH), (con y sin fertilizante). Se midieron 8 variables, vigor, numero de bandolas productivas, numero de bandolas potenciales, longitud de bandolas productivas, longitud de bandolas potenciales, área foliar, peso en uva y peso de café cerezo. El mejor resultado para vigor fue el tratamiento de 2 desombres con fertilizante, el mayor número de bandolas productivas fue 2 desombres con fertilizante, el mayor número de bandolas potenciales se presentó en dos desombres y hubo una interacción con y sin fertilizante, el mejor resultado de longitud de bandolas productivas fue 2 desombres con fertilizante teniendo interacción el testigo sin desombre con y sin fertilizante, la mayor longitud de bandolas potenciales lo mostro 2 desombres con fertilizante teniendo interacción en cero desombre y 2 desombres, la mayor área foliar lo mostro 0 desombres con fertilizante, el mejor resultado de peso uva lo mostro 2 desombres con fertilizante.The objective was to evaluate the effect of shade management on the production of Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora), to estimate the comparative response of fertilization and to evaluate the effect of the interaction between shade management (PG) and fertilization (PCH). The study was carried out in the ejido Unión Roja, municipality of Cacahoatan, Chiapas, located at an altitude of 730 m. A completely randomized experimental design was used with an arrangement in divided plots with 6 treatments and 10 replications, which resulted in 60 experimental units. The treatments were three shade management (PG), (2 unshaded, 1 unshaded and 0 unshaded); and fertilization (PCH), (with and without fertilizer). Eight variables were measured: vigor, number of productive productive branches, number of potential productive branches, length of productive branches, length of potential productive branches, leaf area, grape weight and cherry weight. The best result for vigor was the treatment of 2 tassels with fertilizer, the highest number of productive branches was 2 tassels with fertilizer, the highest number of potential productive branches was in 2 tassels and there was an interaction with and without fertilizer, the best result of length of productive branches was 2 tassels with fertilizer having interaction between the control without shading with and without fertilizer, the greatest length of potential productive branches was shown by 2 tassels with fertilizer having interaction in zero shading and 2 tassels, the greatest leaf area was shown by 0 tassels with fertilizer, the best result of grape weight was shown by 2 tassels with fertilize
