The objective of this study is to elaborate a proposal to raise parental expectations and family participation in school life, for that, parental expectations in prosocial behaviors and forms of family participation in school life were identified. The study was applied to parents of the middle and upper sub-levels of General Basic Education of a private Catholic school, and it was determined that the family has medium expectations in the prosocial behaviors of their children at school. The family participation was analyzed from the school and home context in three dimensions: individual participation in school activities, educational practices at home and establishment of daily routines, and likewise, a medium participation is evidenced.
