The Effect of Not Using Footwear and Washing Hands on the High Prevalence of Worms

Salah satu masalah kesehatan penduduk Indonesia yang insidennya masih tinggi adalah infeksi penyakit cacingan. WHO mencatat sekitar 1,5 miliar orang menderita cacingan dan 60% diantaranya adalah anak-anak. Faktor-faktor yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya resiko penyebab kecacingan antara lain kaki yang langsung berhubungan dengan tanah karena tidak memakai alas kaki, kebiasaan Buang Air Besar (BAB) di sembarang tempat, kebiasaan mencuci tangan, kebersihan kuku, dan ketersediaan air bersih.Rancangan penelitian yang dipakai adalah penelitian eksperimental: Quasy Exsperimen dengan rancangan Pretest-Posstest Comparison Group Design yaitu keseluruhan sampel case dan control dilakukan pemeriksaan feses secara keseluruhan (pretest), kemudian sampel observasi selama 2 bulan dan diberikan perlakuan pada kelompok case. Setelah itu seluruh sampel dilakukan pemeriksaan feses kembali (posttest). Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode total sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 68 orang. Hasil penelitian didapatkan ada pengaruh kebiasaan tidak menggunakan alas kaki (p: 0,000) dan kebiasaan tidak mencuci tangan (p: 0,000) terhadap prevalensi cacingan di SD Inpres 5 Doom Distrik Sorong Kepulauan Sorong Papua Barat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebiasaan tidak menggunakan alas kaki dan kebiasaan tidak mencuci tangan berpengaruh terhadap prevalensi cacingan. Sehingga disarankan kepada kepala sekolah dan dinas terkait untuk selalu memberikan edukasi terkait PHBS terhadap siswa SD.One of the health problems of the population in Indonesia which is still a high incidence is worm infection. The results showed that there was an effect of the habit of not using footwear (p: 0,000) and habit of not washing hands (p: 0,000) on the prevalence of worms in SD Inpres 5 Doom Distrik Sorong Island Sorong Papua Barat. The conclusion of the study shows that the habit of not using footwear and the habit of not washing hands affects the prevalence of worms. So it is suggested to principals and related agencies to always provide education related to PHBS for elementary student
