This article presents the history and main assumptions of biblical Thomism, which began with an attempt to restore interest in the biblical commentaries of Thomas Aquinas, but has managed to develop its own methodological procedure. The key to understanding it may be the idea of integration. Biblical Thomismism is thomistic in a mode that allows for, and encourages, direct engagement with theological and exegetical resources. Its aim is bringing together dogmatic, metaphysical, and exegetical modes into a contemporary theology that is Thomistic, ecumenical, and grounded in Scripture and the Fathers.
