Premières approches méthodologiques et architecturales des structures rupestres (hors église) dans le paysage de Lalibela (Éthiopie)

First methodological and architectural approaches of rocky structures (except the church) in Lalibela area (Ethiopia). The Lalibela area, in northern of Ethiopia, is mainly known for the rock‐hewn churches. Nevertheless, artificial cavities, potentially meant for settlement, have been also identified in the landscape. Barely mentioned in the bibliography, the sites are only documented thanks to extensive data acquisition work on the field. Located on the Ethiopian highlands, they benefit from a lithological and geomorphological environment that is favourable to their implantation. Their study is part of a PhD work which aims to understand the rupestrian landscape and its settlement around Lalibela. Based on the initial results of surveys carried out in October 2019, a methodological and architectural approach to these cavities is proposed in order to provide initial reflections on the location and organization of the sites.La région de Lalibela, dans le nord de l’Éthiopie, est principalement connue pour ses églises rupestres. Néanmoins, des cavités artificielles sont également présentes dans le paysage. Peu connus de la bibliographie, les sites sont exclusivement renseignés grâce à un important travail d’acquisition de données sur le terrain. Localisés sur les hauts plateaux éthiopiens, ils bénéficient d’un environnement lithologique et géomorphologique propice à leur implantation. Leur étude fait l’objet d’un travail doctoral qui ambitionne de comprendre le paysage rupestre et son peuplement autour de Lalibela. À partir des premiers résultats de prospections menées en octobre 2019, une approche méthodologique et architecturale de ces cavités est proposée afin de poser des premières réflexions sur l’implantation et la composition des sites
