A PRÁTICA EXPERIMENTAL: EXTRAÇÃO DE DNA APLICADA AO ENSINO BÁSICO

In this work, an analysis of the application of an investigation activity (AI) on genetics to high school students was carried out. The experimental activity consisted in the extraction of the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) molecule, since this is a complex topic that generates many doubts for students. With the help of innovative methods that arouse curiosity and instigate knowledge, AI was applied to 60 students from a State School, located in the peripheral region of Goiânia (GO). The methodological procedure was based on five steps: initially, the presentation of the proposal with the performance of a Kahoot test, where the students' prior knowledge was diagnosed; from the questions raised, in a second moment, there was a reflection and discussion of the theme; later, the extraction of DNA with the chosen plant was carried out, demonstrating the procedures and the numerous possibilities of study to the students; and the moment of contextualization; To finalize the investigative sequence, a form was applied with the main questions involved in DNA extraction. It is concluded that the methodology applied provided a more participatory and meaningful teaching to the students, however more studies and applications with different approaches and with low cost resources are necessary, considering the lack of appropriation of basic knowledge of genetics for the vast majority of the students. students, especially in public schools. Neste trabalho, foi realizada uma análise da aplicação de uma atividade de investigação (AI) sobre genética a estudantes do ensino médio. A atividade experimental consistiu na extração da molécula de Ácido Desoxirribonucleico (DNA), visto que esse é um tema complexo e que gera muitas dúvidas aos estudantes. Com o auxílio de métodos inovadores que despertam a curiosidade e instigam ao conhecimento, a AI foi aplicada a 60 estudantes de uma Escola Estadual, situada na região periférica de Goiânia (GO). O procedimento metodológico baseou-se em cinco etapas: inicialmente, a apresentação da proposta com a realização de um teste Kahoot, onde foi diagnosticado o conhecimento prévio dos alunos; a partir das questões levantadas, em um segundo momento, ocorreu a reflexão e discussão da temática; posteriormente, foi realizada a extração de DNA com o vegetal escolhido, demonstrando os procedimentos e as inúmeras possibilidades de estudo aos alunos; e o momento de contextualização; Para finalizar a sequência investigativa,  foi aplicado um formulário com as questões principais envolvidas  na extração do DNA. Conclui-se que a metodologia aplicada proporcionou um  ensino mais participativo e significativo aos alunos, no entanto mais estudos e aplicações com diferentes abordagens e com recursos de baixo custo são necessários, considerando  a falta de apropriação de conhecimentos  básicos de genética para a  grande maioria dos alunos, principalmente na rede pública de ensino.      Palavras-chave: atividade de investigação, ensino de Ciências, Genética.  &nbsp
