Alexis Grélois, The Cistercians and the struggle against the southern French heresies under Innocent III : mobilisation of an order or activation of networks ? Taking note of the excessively reductionist way in which the social milieux involved in the struggle against heresies in the South of France have been studied previously, this article proposes to consider one of these groups, that of the Cistercian monks, who were the most involved in this combat, from the time of Bernard of Clairvaux until the advent of the Mendicant orders.
