Galanin (GAL) is a 29-amino acid residue neuropeptide, which was initially isolated from porcine intestine extracts and since then, widely found in a variety of vertebrate organs, in correlation with multiple neuro-hormonal actions exerted and so receiving a constantly growing attention.
