DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea (above 1250 m in Owen Stanley Range from Mt Dayman west to Kratke Mts and Purosa region in Eastern Highlands Prov., then northeast to mountains on Huon Peninsula; probably occurs farther west in Papuan Central Cordillera, but limits unknown); Irian Jaya (Arfak Mts only; limits unknown). COMMENTS: A distinctive species distinguished from L. elegans by the diagnostic and distributional traits enumerated by Rümmler (1932).
