Calcium Sulfate is a highly biocompatible material largely employed to treating periodontal disease, alveolar bone loss, and maxillary sinus augmentation. It is completely biodegradable, osteoconductive, cheap, easy to handle, and able to support the defect area until bone growth. However, how Calcium Sulfate acts on osteoblast promoting bone formation is poorly understood.
