Atmospheric water vapour measurements were simultaneously performed between the ground-based Scanning Raman Lidar (SRL) and the airborne Lidar Atmospheric Sensing Experiment (LASE) system during the International H2O experiment (IHOP), in the context of the IHOP Instrumentation Component (IC). Comparisons between SRL and LASE data were possible on 30 May, 3 June and 9 June 2002. The average RMS deviation between SRL and LASE was found to not exceed 10 % in the height interval 1.3 < z < 3.3 km, while average BIAS deviation between the two sensors was found to be smaller than 0.6 % in the same height interval. Considering only those cases where the distance between the LASE footprint and SRL does not exceed 2.5 km, the RMS devi...
