Distant (1905c) distinguished species of Herrera as those possessing a head about as wide as mesonotum, vertex longer than frons, pronotum being about as long as mesonotum, abdomen about as long as distance from apex of the head to posterior cruciform elevation, small male opercula, strongly spined fore femora, and fore wing width being slightly more than half fore wing length.
