Pyrellia suda Rondani, 1862 ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1862d: 204 (key), 205 (description). TYPE LOCALITY: “ in planitie et collibus agri parmensis. A Venetiis marem olim accepi [Parmese plains and hills. Formerly I received the male from Venice (Italy)]”. TYPE MATERIAL: 7 ♂♂, syntypes (one missing right mid-leg; one missing right wing; two covered with mold), 1 ♀, syntype (MZUF: Box 21): Pyrellia Desv. / suda Rnd. / 1109; 1 ♂, syntype (MZUF: Box F): Pyrellia suda Rnd., 409, ♂, Parma / 393 409; 1 ♂, syntype (missing fore-leg) (MSNC: Box DIPTERA Ex collezione Rondani - I): Pyrellia suda Rnd. 444 ♂ ♀ Parma / Coll. CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Pyrellia rapax (Harris, 1780) (Pont 1986b: 102, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 11). REMARKS: Rondani (1862d: 205) described Pyrellia suda without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens, but providing specific characters for the male, from material he had collected and that he had also received from N. Contarini.
