TYPE LOCALITY: Wiedemann (in Meigen, 1824: 153) gave no type locality in the original description of Dalmannia gemina (Wiedemann, 1824), but presumably it is Europe because the work deals with European species. TYPE MATERIAL: see Remarks. CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Dalmannia aculeata (Linnaeus, 1761) (Chvála & Smith 1988: 271, Rivosecchi & Scaramozzino 1995: 4, Stuke 2017: 137).
