Resúmenes abiertos y citas abiertas: hacia una ciencia abierta con alto estándar

Open science denotes a set of associated practices and ideas, such as accessibility, reproducibility, (data) sharing and collaboration. Revista Salud, Ciencia y Tecnología, despite being a young journal, has aligned itself to these two initiatives that mark a substantial step as open access journals and Crossref members: open abstracts and open citations. The Initiative for Open Abstracts (I4OA) is a collaboration between academic publishers, infrastructure organizations, librarians, researchers and other stakeholders to advocate and promote the unrestricted availability of abstracts from the world's scholarly publications. On the other hand, the Open Citations Initiative (I4OC) is a collaboration between academic publishers, researchers and other stakeholders to promote the unrestricted availability of structured, separable and open scholarly citation data. Although standardizing and ensuring the quality of article metadata is a time-consuming and exhaustive task, we feel highly committed to ensuring that the journal grows not only in the number of articles published but also in editorial standards, which will undoubtedly allow us to increase our visibility and position ourselves in international bibliographic databases.La ciencia abierta denota un conjunto de prácticas e ideas asociadas, como la accesibilidad, la reproducibilidad, el intercambio (de datos) y la colaboración. La Revista Salud, Ciencia y Tecnología, a pesar de ser una revista joven, se ha alineado a estas dos iniciativas que marcan un paso sustancial como revistas de acceso abierto y miembros de Crossref: resúmenes abiertos y citas abiertas. La Iniciativa para los Resúmenes Abiertos (Initiative for Open Abstracts - I4OA) es una colaboración entre editores académicos, organizaciones de infraestructura, bibliotecarios, investigadores y otras partes interesadas para defender y promover la disponibilidad sin restricciones de los resúmenes de las publicaciones académicas del mundo. Por otro lado, la Iniciativa para las Citas Abiertas (Open Citations - I4OC) es una colaboración entre editores académicos, investigadores y otras partes interesadas para promover la disponibilidad sin restricciones de los datos de las citas académicas, y que estas sean estructuradas, separables y abiertas. Si bien normalizar y velar por la calidad de los metadatos de los artículos es una tarea que lleva tiempo y exhaustividad, nos sentimos sumamente comprometidos con velar porque la revista crezca no solo en número de artículos publicados sino en estándares editoriales, esto sin dudas permitirán crecer en cuanto a visibilidad y posicionarnos en bases de datos bibliográficas internacionales
