El café (Coffea arabica L.) en Nicaragua es uno de los principales rubros del sector agropecuario; aporta el 8.5 % del producto interno bruto nacional y el 24 % al producto interno bruto agrícola; el café genera 31.5 % del total de la mano de obra agrícola. Esta investigación caracterizó fitosanitariamente los sistemas de producción del café, a través de la recopilación de información de productores del municipio de Boaco en el año 2020. En el estudio se identificaron prácticas fitosanitarias en el café en Boaco y se determinaron las principales plagas asociadas al cultivo de café y su manejo en las condiciones agroecológicas de Boaco.
