Mit dem Ziel, geeignete Biokatalysatoren für die schnellere und effizientere Synthese chiraler Amine zu entdecken und zu schaffen, umfasst diese Arbeit Protein-Engineering-Studien (Artikel I), untersucht Transaminase-Substrat-Spezifitäten (Artikel II und IV) und ein auf Ultrahochdurchsatz basierendes Wachstumssystem für die gerichtete Evolution von Amin-bildenden Enzymen (Artikel III). Die in Artikel I beschriebenen Protein-Engineering-Studien befassen sich mit der Schaffung einer (R)-Amin-Transaminase-Aktivität im α-Aminosäure-Transaminase-Gerüst, um unser Wissen über die evolutionäre Beziehung zwischen Amin-Transaminase und α-Aminosäure-Transaminase zu erweitern.
