Project Branchout has an aim of planting one million trees in the Loddon-Campaspe region, bringing together landowners, government bodies and local communities. Project Manager, Rod May said the major aims of the project are to demonstrate by example the requirements and techniques for reducing environmental decline and to work towards the future of sustained productivity and improved life in rural areas. He also said that if tree planting can be extended to 5-10 percent of strategic farm lands in the Loddon-Campaspe region it will have a large impact, if not eradicate, the salinity problem.
