Hays, Elmer Dishman

Elmer Dishman Hays, LL.B. Winchester, Kentucky B.S. (Kentucky Wesleyan College, 1913); Sigma Chi; Phi Alpha Phi. Then he would talk; ye gods! how he would talk. Elmer graduated from some school in Winchester and came over here to show us how to win cases in practice court and how to kill \u27em out in classroom. His success has been phenomenal, but he hasn\u27t been here long enough to learn that first great lesson in university training, how to get by without study. Consequently he has sadly neglected his college course. Cassidy\u27s Pool Room Law being the only subject thoroughly mastered by him. Elmer\u27s a corking good fellow, though, and we regret that we haven\u27t had him with us for more than one year. -The Kentuckian, 1914--------------------------------- Elmer Dishman Hays (September 13, 1891 - September 1937) was born in Barbourville, Kentucky to Joseph Smith Hays and Ella Helton. Hays\u27 father was an attorney. Hays graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1913 before receiving his LL.B. from the University of Kentucky in 1914. Hays worked as an examiner and appraiser for the Interstate Commerce Commission after graduation.
