STUDI LITERATUR EFEKTIFITAS PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK DAUN PEGAGAN (CENTELLA ASIATICA) TERHADAP PROSES PENYEMBUHAN LUKA BAKAR

Background: Wound burns are one of the events that often occur in the community, especially in households. Basic Health Research 2018 the prevalence of burns increased to 1.3% from the initial 0.7%. In general, the burn treatment method is given medical treatment that will constantly have unexpected side effects, therefore alternative medicine is needed to reduce these side effects. Indonesia is a country that implements herbal remedies, around 75%-80% of the population makes their primary health needs. Herbal remedies are easily accepted by the body and have low side effects, one of which is centella asiatica leaf extract. Research Objectives: To determine the effectiveness of centella asiatica leaf extract on the healing process of burns according to literature studies. Research Methods: This research method uses a literature study method focusing on four databases including GARUDA, PubMed, Biomed Central and Semantic Scholar. A total of n=11 scientific articles were obtained and a study quality assessment process was carried out using the ARRIVE (Animal Research Reporting of In Vivo Experiment) instrument and analyzed based on thematic analysis. Research Results: From the results of data analysis based on thematic analysis, several themes were found, including: (1) Centella Asiatica Component (2) Degree of burns that can be cured with Centella Asiatica (3) Duration of burn recovery and (4) Factors affecting wound healing. Discussion: The degree of burn that is effective in the administration of centela asiatica is in degree II burns. Because second-degree burns include damage to the epidermis and upper part of the dermis and can heal within two weeks. factors that support the healing process of burns obtained nutrition, kedalaman luka, and vascularization. Conclusion: Centella asiatica strongly supports the healing process of wound
