KANDUNGAN SENYAWA DAN MEKANISME PADA TANAMAN HERBAL YANG BERKHASIAT SEBAGAI ANTI KETOMBE (ANTI SCALP) (SEBUAH STUDI LITERATUR)

Background: Indonesia is a densely populated country with a high level of air pollution, so hair problems often arise, one of which is dandruff. There have been many anti-dandruff treatments circulating in Indonesia. Herbal plants are an alternative for treating dandruff because they are easier to obtain and relatively more affordable. Objectives : To find out what plants are efficacious as anti-dandruff (anti-scalp), what compounds are contained in these plants, and how these compounds work in the process of inhibiting dandruff. Method : Using descriptive qualitative research methodology, namely literature study. Thus study uses a research isntrumen in the form of the Nvivo applivation. Result and conclusion : The plants used as anti-dandruff consisted of 25 plants, namely: Allamanda cathartica L. Aloe vera, Annona muricata L. Apium graveolens L. Camellia sinensis var. Assamica, Eugenia aqueum (Burm. F), Gynura procumbens, Impatiens balsamina L. Melalueca alternifolia, Mikania micrantha Kunth, Pandamus amaryllifolium Roxb., Piper betle L., Piper sarmentosum Roxb., Ploiarium alternifolium Melchant., Syzygium domestic polyant., Syzygium Curcuma longa L., Z. Officinsle Var. Roscoe, Citrus hystrix, Sapindus rarak, Carica papaya L., Allium cepa L., Citrus sinensis. The content of compounds that are efficacious as anti-dandruff are flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, tannins, terpenoids, steroids, eugenol, curcumin, lemonene and polyphenols. The mechanism of action of the compound in overcoming the problem of dandruff is by inhibiting the growth of fungi on the scalp by interfering with the activity of cell membranes.
