International audienceIn their attempt to understand the conditions of settlement, archaeologists have found most rewarding the study of the typology of archaeological sites. Working together, an archaeological team from Languedoc and two specialists belonging to GNRS Research Group 36 ("Applying New Technologies to Research in the Humanities") have been able to submit to the methods of data-analysis (Correspondence Analysis and Hierarchical Classification) the information available on 43 sites in the French region of Beaucaire (Gard), arranged into a graphically-treated matrix (diagonalisation with Bertin method).
